MAKING THE FIRST SIX-SPEED JOHN DEERE

Orlen Stauffer is the son of Aaron B. Stauffer. He grew up hearing his dad tell stories about his boyhood days and the machinery used on the Stauffer home place. Orlen helped his dad restore the same 1937 John Deere Model “B” featured in the story. He grew up in Groffdale, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Garden Spot High School. He lives in Portsmouth, Virginia, with Linda, his wife of twenty-seven years; and his son, Aaron, eight-years old. He serves as the Media Director at Kempsville Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He wrote this book because there are many others who would like to know, and because it’s time for the story to be told.
